We had an exciting time photographing Ellen & Holger’s wedding in Hanover, Germany. The day was remarkably similar to a UK wedding, but there were lots of little differences and traditions – our favourite was the coffee and cake after the ceremony! We had an unexpected sudden thunderstorm and downpour while we were photographing in the grounds of the Rathaus (town hall) and had to retreat indoors to dry off. Fortunately there was a lovely staircase and we were able to continue the photography. The reception venue was beautifully decorated and lit by a huge number of candles, which allowed for one of my favourite shots of the day, Ellen and Holger sitting on the stairs lit only by candlelight. We are looking forward to our next overseas wedding, wherever that may be!
